A 10-Day Northern Lights & Astro-Photography Expedition
1-10 FEBRUARY, 2027
10 DAYS/ 9 NIGHTS
Tromsø • Senja • Skibotn (Norway)
Most travelers merely glimpse the Northern Lights; we pursue them into the depths of the infinite. By aligning our journey with the New Moon of February 6th, we surrender the world to total darkness. Without the moon’s interference, the sky becomes an obsidian stage where the ‘Green Lady’ dances in her truest form. This is your mission: to capture the stars, the Milky Way, and the Aurora as they were meant to be seen—unveiled, uninterrupted, and breathtakingly pure.
While the rest of the coast hides behind a veil of clouds, we retreat to Skibotn—the legendary "Blue Hole" of the North. In this unique mountain rain-shadow, the sky parts to reveal a window into the infinite, offering the clearest path to the stars when others see only grey.
Spend three nights in the shadow of Senja’s jagged majesty. We will compose our masterpieces against the "Dragon’s Teeth"—ancient, granite spires that rise violently from the dark Atlantic, providing the most dramatic silhouette for the dancing lights.
Forget the rigid routes of tour buses. With two dedicated AWD SUVs, we are ghost-chasers. We have the freedom to pivot 200km at a moment’s notice, hunting the horizon and outrunning the weather to ensure your lens always finds the light.
This is our starting and ending point. It’s known as the “Paris of the North” and serves as our base for coastal fjord photography.
Key Spots: Kvaløya Island, Ersfjordbotn, and Grotfjord.
Role: Technical calibration and coastal vanguard shoots.
Often described as “Norway in miniature,” Senja offers the most dramatic mountain-meets-sea landscapes in the Arctic.
This is a small village located inland, famous among meteorologists and aurora hunters for its unique micro-climate.
While not a primary shooting location, we pass through this town to cross the iconic bridge over to Senja Island. It’s our main supply hub for the mid-trip stretch.

Arrival Location
Tromsø Airport (TOS), Norway. This is the main international hub for the Arctic region.
Reporting Timing
February 1, 2027 | Between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Our team will be at the arrivals hall for group pickups. We recommend landing by 3:30 PM to join the first Technical Briefing and our Welcome Dinner.
Departure & Timing
February 10, 2027 | Anytime after 11:00 AM. We provide airport drop-offs throughout the morning of Day 10. For those wanting to do last-minute souvenir shopping in Tromsø, a late afternoon flight is ideal.
Since we are traveling as a professional photography group, your chances of approval are much higher. Here is how we handle it:
We provide a Group Invitation Letter, a confirmed day-wise itinerary, and all hotel vouchers required for your Schengen (Norway) visa.
We will coordinate a Group Appointment so all 8 participants apply together. This demonstrates to the Embassy that you are part of a legitimate, organized workshop.
Your Part: You will need to visit the VFS center in your city for biometrics and to submit your personal financial documents.
While we provide 100% documentation support, the final decision rests solely with the Norwegian Embassy. Visa fees are paid directly to VFS and are non-refundable.
With only 8 spots available for the 2027 New Moon, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Secure your place in the Arctic Midnight circle today.
Note for Indian Participants: All payments can be made in INR based on the prevailing exchange rate on the day of the transaction. We provide a GST-compliant invoice for all bookings.
Everything you need to know before the chase.
You need a camera with Manual Mode capabilities and a sturdy tripod. A wide-angle lens with a fast aperture ($f/2.8$ or lower) is highly recommended.
Expect temperatures between -10°C and -15°C. We provide a detailed “Layering Guide” to keep you warm, and our heated 4×4 SUVs are always nearby to serve as mobile basecamps.
While we can’t control the sun, our 10-day window and “Blue Hole” strategy (bypassing coastal clouds) give us a 95% success rate. We go where the clear sky is.
This is a photography trip, not a trekking expedition. Most locations are a short walk from our vehicles. If you can walk on uneven, snowy ground, you are fit enough to join.
Yes. Our route is fluid. We adjust the itinerary daily based on real-time weather, safety, and satellite data to optimize your photography opportunities.
Absolutely. Non-photographers are welcome to enjoy the scenery, but please note the pace is slow and photo-oriented. We do not offer separate pricing for non-photographers.
Because we secure elite Arctic lodges, specialized 4×4 expedition vehicles, and local Norwegian logistics months in advance, all cancellations are subject to the following strictly managed schedule.
Only 8 slots for the 2027 New Moon expedition. Ready to chase the light? Let’s talk.
